Policies
Please acquaint yourself with my professional policies, which apply to all of my tutoring and advising work. These policies are designed to maximize benefit to all of my students.
Cancellation, No Show, & Lesson Length Policy
All lessons that are cancelled less than 24 hours before its starting time are subject to a cancellation fee equal to the full cost of the scheduled lesson. While these lessons may be rescheduled upon request, such rescheduling is subject to my availability, which is typically limited. In addition, any such rescheduled lesson must occur within the same Monday-Sunday calendar week or else the cancellation fee still applies, and the full cost of the original lesson will still be due even if a shorter lesson is rescheduled. In addition, if a client fails to show up for a lesson within thirty minutes of the lesson's scheduled start time, the lesson will be automatically canceled and a no show fee equal to the full cost of the lesson will be incurred. Unlike cancellation fees, no show fees are still due even if the lesson is rescheduled to another meeting time during the week. Furthermore, if you ask to shorten a lesson less than 24 hours before the lesson is set to start, the full cost of the originally scheduled lesson still applies.
Booking Policy
I operate on a first-come first-served basis and am usually operating at or near capacity, so I recommend booking with me as early as possible. Generally in order to reserve a particular time on a regular basis, you must be meeting with me weekly. For less frequent meetings, I typically can only arrange specific lessons within the same calendar month or, during peak seasons, within the next two weeks. In order to reserve a particular time far in advance, I typically require a non-refundable deposit which will be applied to the cost of your lessons.
Health & Safety Policy
Although the COVID-19 pandemic has ended, I strongly encourage families to take advantage of online lessons, which come at a lower price and are easier to schedule. However, for students who choose to meet with me in-person, you are required to inform me if you are sick prior to the lesson, in which case we can either conduct the lesson via Zoom or reschedule. Do not invite me into your home if anyone in the household is known to be sick - please have common courtesy as I do have a wife and two young children at home.
Payment Policy
Please note that all payments are due at the end of each lesson unless otherwise agreed upon in advance. Payments that are more than one week late will incur a late fee. Payments are generally made by Venmo, Zelle, or check. If you wish to utilize a non-standard payment method, such as a credit or debit card, such payments are subject to an additional fee.
