Hi there, I’m Ethan

Ethan J. Kaplan is a private tutor based in New York City. He been teaching and tutoring for almost a decade, starting as a lecturer at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Queens College before shifting gears into the high-pressure world of Manhattan test prep and academic tutoring. Ethan’s students have a proven track record of success both in school and on standardized tests, including 8 perfect scorers on the ACT and many more perfect 5’s on the AP Exams. Ethan has co-authored and contributed to textbooks on the SAT, ACT, SHSAT, SSAT, and ISEE while also serving as a tutor trainer and mentor at one of the most prestigious test prep companies in Manhattan. He graduated with a 3.86 GPA from Hunter College High School and graduated Magna cum Laude at Northwestern University, where he was the recipient of the Marion Mayer Bergin and J.G. Nolan Scholarships for academic excellence. Ethan scored a perfect 340 on the GRE in 2020, a 790 on the GMAT in 2021, and previously scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT while in high school. He is also a published author and playwright and has an MFA in Creative Writing from Queens College.
